  1. Hi Rose,

Thanks for your work on this! You obviously put a ton of effort into it. I loved viewing it (particularly all the photos of you, your family, and your students) and that hope you enjoyed the process of making it!

It's neat that you have these deep roots in Colorado. It's pretty clear how important that family heritage is for you. Therefore, it's interesting that you are now approaching a time where you think it might be good to move on and try something new. I think that's great. Truly, we grow in appreciation of ourselves (our experiences, our family, our traditions) as we experience that which is different from it!

From what I could see, it was Washington DC that meant the most to you on your travels. That sense of connection--to a place, to a history, to a set of relationships (ones better that "mean girl" tactics). I've spent a lot of time in DC as well. I also find it very inspiring and beautiful. I really love being there. So I think it's so neat you could bring your students there, particularly those who are exploring their relationship to the United States as a new home.

I wish you luck on Greece and Italy. Two amazing places. That said, perhaps you will find your next home as you travel around this summer. Maybe that is the trip that matters most. There is travel for distraction and travel for connection. I think you are very good at the latter!

    Thanks again for your work!

    Kyle
